Message: Casting the Vision of the New Man
Minister: Pastor Laide Olaniyan
We all have different motives for seeking God, and going to Church. The Church is not a conventional center. It’s not a place to receive carnal blessings, rather it’s the ground for the revelation of a Person. We see this in the scripture: multitudes and disciples followed Jesus because He could bless their natural needs, but they turned back from following Him when He said they’ll have to eat His flesh and drink His blood, before they can have life (John 6:53). When the world is preached, the people of the world will hear it, but when the word is preached, the elect, which are called out of the world, will hear. (John 10:27).
God’s election is upon us; His ordination is over us for inheriting His life, (Romans 8:29). The programme that we are pushing forth now, is a continuation of what He started over the years. He is still pursuing it in His church. He is aggressively pursuing the matters of the closure of the age and by doing so, He is revealing the matter that will mature His church for the closure of the age. As much as He is involved in blessing the nation, more paramountly He is still very much focused on this one mandate.
As the days progresses, evil will continually multiply. (2 Timothy 3:13). It’s God’s mercy that all of Satan’s evil has not been revealed, because if this happens, many of the elect will not be saved (Matthew 24:22). God knows this, and in His faithfulness, He will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can contain (1 Corinthians 10:13); He restricts our temptations to the level we can bear. However, God wants us to grow up to a point where He won’t have to hold off Satan from fully tempting us again. God achieved this in Jesus. Jesus was driven by the Spirit, into the wilderness, to be fully tempted by Satan. The reason why God could boldly allow this, is because He is sure of the work that has been wrought in Jesus (Mark 1:12-13). This is what it means to overcome.
An overcomer is one who has faced all the wiles and arsenals of Satan, and did not fall. Such an one has found mercy to prevail against Satan. We are not an overcomer until all of Satan tries us. We can say we have overcome Satan when he comes to us, and we remain resolute, firm and built up. It is possible to overcome Satan; Scriptures say “to him that overcometh…” (Revelations 3:21). We are an overcomer when nothing of Satan can be found in us; just as the prince of the world couldn’t find any of his things in Jesus (John 14:30). This is a blessed state where we have been rid of everything which Satan has given us. Let us seek to be victorious to the point that when God and Satan look inside us, they would only see God’s properties, with nothing of Satan left. “[6]And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. [8]But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.” (Hebrews 1:6 & 8) This means that God saw all of His “God properties” in Jesus after His ascension, which made him proclaim Jesus a God. At that point, there was nothing of man, flesh, sin or even satan in Him; just God properties alone.
A beautiful thing is that, asides Jesus, we also saw 144,000 men come into this estate where they were completely redeemed from being a man. “These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.” (Revelations 14:4-5). God’s project is to raise a building of God in our soul. A building run by the eternal laws of God. Let us not joke with this; men are being built, men are finding grace to overcome Satan little by little, an obedience at a time. May we be numbered amongst them. (Ephesians 2:22).
[13]Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. [14] And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: [15] For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. (Matthew 13: 13-15)
Satan is responsible for bringing men into this sick state; though they have eyes, and ears, yet they can’t see or perceive… It is one of God’s agenda to heal men of this infirmity Satan has brought upon them. This healing isn’t bodily healing, but rather, the healing of the soul. It is possible for souls, not just the body to be infirmed. In fact, the soul tends to have more sickness than the body. “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name [2] Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. [3] Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; (Psalm 103: 1-3).
The opening of the eyes of the believer, which Satan has closed, is the beginning of deliverance. Jesus called the Pharisee blind, though they could see with their physical eyes, but within, in their souls, they were blind and the Israelites who followed them were also blind. “Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” (Matthew 15:14). You see, a person getting born again doesn’t cure that blindness. Many who believe are still blind and lost. “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:” (2 Corinthians 4:3). The gospel here isn’t the ministration that gets our spirit born again, but this gospel of the new testament, which Paul really spoke about in the previous chapter (2 Corinthians 3:1-18).
We must understand that there are levels of gospel, in the gospel of Christ. In Romans 1:1, Paul talked about the gospel of God, and in verse 16, He mentioned the gospel of Christ. It is good to know that the gospel of Christ and the gospel of God are various levels of the gospel.
[1]Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, [16]For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1: 1 & 16). So when Paul said “…our gospel…” in 2 Corinthians 4:3, He was referring to the gospel of God, which is the core of the new testament
We also see Paul reference the gospel of God separately from the gospel of Christ in 2 Corinthians 4:2)— But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
The word of God here isn’t Bible; but the gospel, the news of God in His fullness.
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: [4] – In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)
We can see here that indeed, Satan is god over this world, and how he reigns is by perpetuating blindness in men’s mind and heart. Also, the gospel of Christ here, is not just the gospel at Christ’s level, but it’s the glorious gospel, the gospel of Glory. “…which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” (Colossians 1:27) Christ has to be in us for us to receive glory; If Christ hasn’t been laid in us, we can’t see glory. God wants us to see glory, but there is another god who doesn’t want us to. Satan’s goal is that we will not see the Glory of God.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. [6] – For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:5-6)
There is something in Jesus’s face. The things created by God’s hand will pass away at the appearance of His face. A soul who hasn’t been made by the ministry of His face, will also pass away. Even though heaven and earth were the work of His hand, once His face was manifested, they fled. Anything that hasn’t been created by God’s face cannot endure. (Revelations 20:11, Hebrews 1:10 -11)
Anything that isn’t made by His face, can’t withstand the appearance of His face. There is something written in His face that should be imprinted into man and change Him. We can’t see His face until they unveil both faces. If you are veiled you can’t see His face, if He is veiled, you can’t see His face. But the unveiling of His face is called revelation.
(Isaiah 25:6-7) — And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. [7]And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.
We unveil His face by feeding; Adam died by feeding.
There is a face preventing His face (i.e He who is seated on the throne), and so we must be fed against this face.
(2 Cor. 4:5-6) – For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. [6] – For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Jesus died for us to see and inherit life.
(The John 3:2) — Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
If you can’t see Him as He is, you can never be like Him. Based on what Satan has done in us, we can never see Him as He is, because He knows that not seeing Him as He is guarantees our inability to be like Him.
(John 17:3) — And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
(Matt. 13:15) – For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
(Eph. 1:15-19)
Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints [16] Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; [17] That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: [18] The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, [19] And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
To say I was blind now I see can be true if you believe it’s progressive journey, but if you believe you have now been healed of your blindness completely is a deception of the devil.
(1 Peter 4:4) — Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
(Acts 26:16) — But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; [17]. Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, [18] To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Conversion for healing is actually forgiveness of sin. God knows that though He has shown us mercy, our freedom is not absolute until He turns us away from what Satan has done.
The making of a free man is to be rewired on our inside. Our true bondage is not in the operation of darkness, but the nature of satan woven inside of us. The rewiring of that nature by truth is the actual freedom.
(John 8: 31-32) – Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; [32] And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
(Eph. 2:2) – Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
(2 Peter 2:19) – While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
(1 Cor. 6:12) – All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
When we think of sin, we think of lawful things and unlawful things. Paul didn’t see in this light, due to the eyes God has given Him. Lawful things can also be unlawful. What you spend your life seeking is your God. The design of satan is that things here will hold us in bondage and then weave a nature inside of our soul.
In the ordination of God, nothing should have power over your soul other than God. There are many things both lawful and unlawful that we obey instead of God. There are many things we love more than God. We have been enslaved by a law. God isn’t pleased with disrespect, but our response to it, especially when we can’t leave without it is what counts to Him.
For children, they look at lawful and lawless, but for Sons, if it’s not according to His will, it’s sin, iniquity, and transgression.
(Eph. 6:11) — Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
(Eph. 5:8) — For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
(Eph. 4:17) — This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, [18] Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
One of the characteristics of Gentiles is the blindness of their eyes, but this doesn’t just affect them alone, but other believers as well, that is why they walk like Gentiles.
(Eph. 4:19-21) — Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. [20] But ye have not so learned Christ; [21] If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
(Eph. 4:22 – 24) – That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; [23] And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; [24] And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
The truth in Christ that will turn us away from the blindness of the eyes must be taught. My eyes must be open, my ears hearing and my heart understanding for Christ to be formed in us.
Christ must be taught until He is formed in us.
(Gal. 4:19) – My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
Christ must be laid, truth after truth, until Christ is raised inside of you. We can’t not look for true glory until Chrisg be formed in us. Only Christ can hope for glory, a dead man does not know what glory is.
(Col. 1:26) — Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: No.27. To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Every Christ will face the power of Satan, and must be delivered for Him to get to God. There are things that we are freed from, but under suitable growth conditions can grow back. The things that Christ has taken away from us can find expression under the right atmosphere. Christ can deliver us from corruption, but He doesn’t make us incorruptible. Somehow somewhere we haven’t been purified.
A christ man can escape corruption, but is still corruptible. Christ cleanses us from corruption and makes us corruptible, while being a Son can save you from corruption and make you incorruptible.
(1 Cor. 15:53) — For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
What God is doing over a church is not just to cleanse us, but to make us incorruptible. There is another administration God is bringing forth to the elect.
(2 Peter 1.8) — For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [9] – But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. [10] Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: [11] For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
God wants to take us from a place where I have been cleansed from corruption, to a place where I can never be corrupted. The things we are learning are tools of making. (2 Peter 1:8) A man is made by what He is being taught. Our making is both our learning and obeying. This year give attention to your making. The project of God is to make me. The project of making is both creation and formation, by putting on of the laws that makes a man.
(Gen. 2:7) — And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Making is to install the laws that run a man. Making begins with creation, that was why there was a need for us to be recreated first before going ahead to being made. We won’t emerge in likeness without the spirit.
(Gen. 5:1) This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; No.2. Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
(Acts 26:18) To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
(Heb. 9:12) Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. [13] For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: [14] How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? [15] And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. [16] For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. [17] For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. No.18. Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. [19] For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, [20] Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. [21] Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. [22] And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
The New testament is a secret hidden in the blood of Jesus. All of the things that our parents have been declaring over us are the content of the blood.
(Hebrews 12:22) But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, [23]. To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, [24] And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
It’s by virtue of what the blood teaches that we will overcome. The blood taught Jesus how to be raised. The secret of raising is in His blood. The new testament is not just the offering, but the principle of life contained in the blood.
(Heb. 13:20) — Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, [21]. Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
The secret of perfection in the order of God is locked in the content of God, the everlasting covenant.
(Joel 3.18) — And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim.” No.19. Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. No.20. But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. No.21. For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.”
(Isaiah 25:6) — “And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.”
The blood is a speaker.
THE END.
