Message: Awaking from Sleep by the opening of our Eyes of Understanding

(Romans: 13:11) — “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.”
(Ephesians. 5:14) — “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.”
When we got born again, our Spirit man was quickened or was born
Ephesians. 2:4-6 “4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”
Jesus was first of all quickened from hell because his spirit and soul went to hell 1st Peter. 3:18-19 “18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;” His suffering started from when he began obeying God, not just in hell. Obedience is suffering. Suffering is subjecting one’s will to the will of God. You can’t learn obedience without suffering
(Heb.5:8) —“Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;”
The peak of His obedience was what culminated into him being crucified on the cross. Jesus suffered what nobody saw which was soul suffering, suffering of conformity, always consistently being aligned to God is a kind of suffering. The reason why Jesus suffered was that He might bring us to God. He was put to death by the flesh. They killed His spirit in the flesh and death was also put on his flesh.
(2nd Cor. 5:21) — “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” When Jesus was on the cross, God made him sin. He was fully put to death on the cross; in his spirit and in his body, God made Him sin.
(Eph. 2:5) — “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)” We weren’t there when Jesus was quickened but we were all quickened together with Christ same way as all died in Adam even though we were not there when Adam sinned. The day we became born again, we all became quickened, but being quickened is not the same as being awake.
Many believers are born again but still sleeping. To be born again is for one’s Spirit to be made alive. There is a similarity between death and sleep because when people would be raised from the dead shall also arise.
(1st Thess. 4:14) — “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him”
When our spirit was born, it was quickened and it was healed of great sleep. When a man has been born again, it means he has been quickened, raised from the dead and has also been healed of great sleep. These are things that happen in the realm of the spirit that everything being equal a man should participate in. A spiritually dead man is a man that is not able to touch certain realities in the realm of the spirit. Death is a disconnection from the realm of life. Every one who is dead in their spirit cannot fellowship with the life which is in Christ because his spirit is dead, or not born again. But the day they become born again, they are awoken to the realities, blessedness, fellowship that are in Christ. Death is deep sleep, disconnection from God. The things that are given to the spirit when he comes awake is the same thing they want to give to the soul to quicken it. Everyone who is born again is awake to the life that is in Christ which is the first thing that we are told to come and learn. Everyone who is born again, their spirit is awake.
(1st Thess. 5:1-4) — “ 1. But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief” .
Darkness is a place that the soul can be in Colossians 1:13 “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son”. Darkness is where a soul can dwell in, light is also a place that the soul can dwell in. Darkness is a domain of life, light also is a domain of life. Night is an estate that a soul can dwell in. When we were born again, our spirit was healed of darkness.
(Eph. 5:8) “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light” – The spirit of a man not born again is in darkness. The spirit is storage and an embodiment. There are two types of darkness, there is darkness that is night and there is darkness that is darkness (1st Thess. 5:7). Before God can heal us from darkness, He has to make us entities of light. Darkness is the absence of light (Prov. 20:27) Psalm 18:28 “For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness” Someone who is not born again has a darkened spirit. What God did to the spirit is to quicken him, which is the real man or the 1st man. The spirit of unbelievers is dead to God but alive in another realm.
No man by himself can quicken his spirit, It is the Holy Spirit that can quicken the spirit of a man. A man is dead doesn’t mean that they are void of activity of life, but they do activities of life in darkness. We need to follow the leading of the spirit because even dead men follow the leading of their dead spirit. We as believers can fall prey to following the darknesses that we have not relinquished. This way, our Spirits are awake but our hearts and minds are sleeping
We have people who sleepwalk in the natural and that is how some people in the church also sleepwalk in the spirit. There can be a lot of activities, people getting married, buying cars, building houses, sharing many mighty testimonies, praying and many other things, but the church is full of people who are snoring in the sight of God. Prayer, devotion and many other spiritual activities are good, but that is not how to awake a soul out of slumber. What the Lord wants is more than morning devotion, it’s life devotion.
Interpretation of Tongues
For some of those measures I gave in times of ignorance,
I brought forth some of those measures to cushion the soul, and bless the soul with something to eat and drink,
Even with something to give light in the midst of thick darkness,
For some of those wisdom and counsel, I gave to my people in a season where there was no light or way to find direction,
I brought them counsel from my word, I exalted them and anointed my men and women to teach these principles and cause blessings to come upon those that yielded to them,
But you see, those principles in themselves cannot all the way heal darkness,
They cannot free from sleep,
They cannot deliver from slumber,
They cannot take a soul out of the night,
The night formulated by the adversary; by my enemy who is also my enemy.
Interpretation of Tongues
It’s in the leading we awake,
It is in the leading we move you from darkness,
It is in the leading we take you from your sleep, it is in the leading we correct your heart,
It is in your choices,
It is in the way you take decisions,
It is in the way you live your life,
You sleep in way, we wake you in way,
It is weaved in way,
It is weaved in mannerisms,
It is weaved in your choices,
It is in your opinion,
It is in the way you live your life,
Don’t joke with leading,
It makes you alive,
It quickens you
Moves you from the path of the gentiles and put you in the way of God.
You have been led astray, all ye as sheep have been led astray,
Now you need to return to the shepherd and bishop of your soul by leading
Life, being awake, comes by leading

Some of us have to start with devotion. Our fathers, because of the level of light available then, devotion was the way the Lord could keep them tipsy for the Holy Ghost. Daily devotion was like daily revival. Some of us might not do too well with the things that are being taught in Christ if we don’t have that daily revival. Christ raises a soul to become a new man that doesn’t need revival. The light of the gospel of Christ and God is what will work in a man that would make him not need revival. However, devotion is for daily revival.
We should wake up and intentionally pray and read the bible and not compare ourselves to people who have done that over years and now no longer need revival for the spirit to rest. We should not just wake up and go about our regular businesses without even thinking of praying and studying because it can make us dry spiritually and it can lead to lack of understanding. We need to make a commitment to daily praying. We pray with the spirit through our mouths. The spirit drags the soul while praying, that is why scriptures come with a type of breath during prayers.
The reason why we struggle with certain things like gossip is because we’ve not prayed in tongues well enough while tongues praying would not heal it, however, Tongue speaking can sanctify your mouth. Use this time of your life to get God. We need daily awakening to understand what is being taught. It’s easy for the word to permeate the mind while praying in the spirit. We need to make deliberate, conscious lifestyle adjustments to be able to have devotions. Things like sleeping early, eating light at night and setting alarms that will help us be able to wake up and pray. There’s also no rule that your devotion should be in the midnight, it can be in the afternoon. Experience daily revivals and let light increase.
Our collective prosperity and growth in 2026 is one of the burdens of our Pastor. We were born again in our spirits with sleeping souls. The degree of sleep we got born again with is the replica of the amount of darkness that is in us. Satan uses darkness to create sleeping pills for souls. He also created an environment around our soul that is conducive for sleep. How did sleep come, at what point did man begin to sleep? When God created Adam in the beginning, he wasn’t sleeping, Adam wasn’t sleeping in his soul, so where did sleep come from? God created Adam (Spirit and soul), and blessed him and formed his body are things that didn’t make Adam sleep (Note: we are not talking about physical sleep). Anything that happened in Adam’s realm of everlasting life, he was aware of.
(Gen. 3:7-8) — 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden” ,
What Adam and Eve ate was the seed and fruit of darkness. Darkness was first a food for the soul, inside of the fruit they ate was a light which was darkness Matthew 6:23b …”If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness” they ate into a light which was dark, it entered into their soul and the seed that can condition a soul to sleep away the realm of God entered into Adam and into his wife. The tree of the Knowledge of good and evil is one tree that has fruit and each of the fruits has two powers of sleep;
(Gen. 3:5-7) “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
(Gen. 3:22a) “And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil…” Knowing good and evil can make someone a god after your eyes have been opened. To potential to become as god, the potential to become a fallen Christ are in the tree of good and evil. Another way to describe the tree of god and evil is the tree of sleep.
What the devil came with are powers to sleep against God and to be awakened unto him. What he used to kill our spirits is the first darkness. What the devil used to kill our spirit is the 1st darkness because the personality of our spirit is compatible with the first darkness Romans 13:11 “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” There is a sleep that the best way it can be described is an anti-salvation sleep meaning when they are teaching salvation, you would be sleeping.
What the devil used to kill man is the 1st sleep, it is the sleep that has the power of the 1st night and when it fell on our spirit, our spirit became in became insensitive to the realm of the spirit, that realm of the spirit that Adam was fellowshipping with but the moment Adam’s spirit died, he was disconnected from that realm.
(Gen. 6:2-3) — “2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years”.
Man became flesh because darkness worked on the soul. When we died, our spirit took on darkness and became asleep in the realm of the spirit. What Jesus did was to make our spirit come alive when we got born again. The first meal given to someone who just got born again is milk which only deals with some measure of our darkness.
However milk only deals with some measures of darkness, darkness below the tree of good and evil meaning that milk cannot deal with the level of darkness that the tree of good and evil brought even though the darkness that milk will deal with is a consequence of the incursion of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil but milk itself was not designed to deal with the very darkness. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil came with two darkness to attack the 2 estate of light in Adam and when he had finished it, the devil decided to create other darkness which would serve as a stumbling block to a man’s journey to God. But what the Lord did was that He gave milk, milk is meant to clear the part of some darkness When you are hearing repentance from dead works, faith toward God, doctrine of baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment (Hebrews 6:1-2) are teachings that are meant to deal with some level of darkness.
The two darkness came from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. How did we come to that conclusion? You see the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is a seed that came from a fallen cherub and every cherub is a being of the most holy, put another way, a being of the most holy is an high priest. Ephesians 4:17 ”This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart…” What is inside of every soul is a tabernacle so inside your soul, there is a lampstand, table of incense, shew bread, holy place, outer court, most holy place. When the adversary killed the spirit, he drove darkness into the soul because the bible says he opened their eyes Genesis 3:1-5 God’s opinion about this tree of the knowledge of good and evil is found in Genesis 2:17. God told Adam the consequences of eating the tree but the serpent came to dispute God.
One of the things the tree of the knowledge of good and evil did was bringing another lampstand (Wicked eyes), it is not the physical eyes, it is the eyes of their understanding. The heart and the mind are what makes up the soul. The seven spirit of the Lord is the Holy Ghost (Isaiah 11: 1-3) You can have the Holy Spirit inside of you and not have the seven spirit inside of you. Milk is meant to clear the path of some darkness to begin to clear the real or root of darkness. Our lampstand has been darkened, we must be lighted up (Eph 1:16-18, Isaiah 11:2-3).
The Holy Ghost is a stature that runs from earth to heavens to eternity. The Holy Ghost that came to the earth on the day of Pentecost was the Holy Ghost that earth (souls) can take. The Holy Ghost gives wine. This makes the Spirit to pray in tongues and the soul gets drunk. This Holy Ghost is the one that can manifest the nine gifts of the spirit. The nine gifts of the spirit can do things that will pass away. but the things of the seven spirits of God can rest in a man and a man who holds to these seven spirits can carry the lamp as his light (Psa. 119:150). The reason for preaching Christ is so that the whole church would carry lamps on the inside. The end product of teaching Christ is that everyone should be a lamp bearer. The adversaries came to give his own light which is darkness 1st Thessalonians 3:1-5 we are not saved to the uttermost until we become incorruptible.
The Lord has begun to come and it is not rapture; rapture definitely will occur. This coming of the Lord happens in the soul of people, that is, the souls of the people of God should be becoming saved. In verse 5, Children of light are children of the Holy place and children of the day are Children of the Most Holy. Children here means those using the light. The Tree gave eyes for men to see. The eyes that the adversary gave was to teach us darkness.
What is darkness? It is Satan’s definition of life and the Devil teaches it by giving knowledge. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil brought a negative God knowledge. It is wrong eyes that steal the fear of God from some people. The spirit of this world trims eyes. Hide your own eyes, it is not everything people say that you listen too.
Finally, 1st Thessalonians 5: 5-7 “5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.”. Don’t sleep in your soul, one of the ways not to sleep in your soul is by giving attention to doctrines, to revelations, because the giving of revelation is the giving of knowledge.
Anything that doesn’t begin with knowledge can never become a nature. You would not be delivered from the sleep satan has given if you do not receive the Knowledge of God which is an antidote to what the devil has given. The knowledge of Christ makes you to see another hope and another reason for living. If you think your problem is strong, see hope, it is hope for hope. (Eph. 5:14-16) — “14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” You can’t walk if you are not seeing hope”
