THEME: Jesus the Healer: Knowing How to Receive Healing for Our Bodies from The Lord

TOPIC: Origin of Sicknesses and Diseases; and God’s Desire and Provisions to Wholesomely Heal

INTRODUCTION:
God’s wisdom in Our Father in The Lord, Pastor Emeka Egwuchukwu, is pivoting us as a Church to study along the lines of healings, faith and confessions. We are trusting God by His Mercies that the next few weeks will be full of deliverances and healings from sickness and diseases, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Some questions that are important to answer as we begin this series:
- From where did sicknesses and diseases come from?
The devil of course! (Romans 5:12; Acts 10:38; Isaiah 53:3-5; Deuteronomy 21:23; 2nd Corinthians 5:21).
- What are sickness and diseases?
Sicknesses and diseases are by-products of sin and death in the body of man. Sicknesses and diseases are rooted in ‘spiritual death’ which was/is authored by the devil (chiefly) and His cohorts (Deuteronomy 7:15; Luke 13:16)
- Does God use sicknesses and diseases to torture/purify or save His Children?
No! The scriptures say God is not the author of confusion (sicknesses and diseases are confusion of laws of the body) (1st Corinthians 14:33). God does not use it because He does not have it. Sicknesses and diseases are Satan’s tools
- Is God always willing to heal His Children from sicknesses and diseases? Or must one first become spiritually mature first for God to heal?
God is always ever willing to heal us from sicknesses and diseases (Matthew 8:1-3). God never turns away anyone who comes to Him in Faith to be healed from sicknesses and diseases. He is not short of the power to heal.
- Are prayers for healings being prayed over a Saint an automatic guarantee of healings from The Lord?
Yes and No!
Yes, the healing anointings released by faith in the name of Jesus triggers healing virtue and power that can in turn bring healings to the body of a person from sicknesses and diseases that had afflicted them (Acts 28:8; Luke 4:38-39).
No! Prayers of faith are not an automatic guarantee of healing. The recipient of the prayers MUST LEARN AND KNOW HOW TO RECEIVE HEALINGS FROM SICKNESSES AND DISEASES, AND MUCH MORE BE TAUGHT HOW TO KEEP THE HEALINGS AND MIRACLES (Matthew 9:22; Matthew 15:28).
- Can sin (sinful habits/fornication/anger or life/lifestyle of sin/walking in the way of sin) open the door for sicknesses and diseases?
Yes! Sicknesses and diseases are direct bye products of the entrance of sin and death into Mankind (Romans 5:12; John 5:14). Habits, sinful habits are sure guarantors for sicknesses and diseases to enter and stay in the body of many. For many people, it is a commitment to certain unholy habits that hath hindered them from receiving their healings (this is not true for every case).
It is good to emphasize some of the following:
- While the preaching of the doctrines in the New Testament is meant to save/heal the soul, and redeem our bodies (Romans 8:23), the Lord Jesus Christ has already made provisions for healings for “All His Children” by faith in The Lord through His word (Matthew 7:25-29).
- The responsibilities for to get healed ought to be borne by both the minister or the person praying for the sick and diseased, as well as the person being prayed for. As a matter of fact the person being prayed for ought to bear more “faith burden” to receive and keep their healing (Matthew 13:58).
- Healings from sicknesses and diseases (being repairs and restoration) many times are not instantaneous, but gradual.
- While some sicknesses and diseases are as a result of breaking laws of nature (not eating well, not resting well, misusing one’s body, exposure to hazardous substances from the environment etc) many others are outgrowths of having walked the paths of sins and ways of death. The truth is men’s walk can bring breakdown to their physical flesh (Proverbs 14:12). Sicknesses and diseases which are by breaking natural laws may be correctable by natural adjustments (lifestyle adjustments in diet, exercise etc), but sicknesses and diseases which are a product of disobedience cannot be cured/healed by natural approaches.
- There are spirits (demons) that specifically carry and impart or cause sicknesses and diseases. Such cases can also be healed by the healing anointings (in many cases special anointings: Matthew 4:24; Acts 10:38)
Conclusion
The reason for this series is for you (if it applies to you) to know how to get your healings from The Lord, and much more to keep the healings. Also, the teachings are meant to bring illuminations on how to live in health through obedience.
Daddy Egwuchukwu wants us healed! Daddy and Mummy Oyegoke want us whole! Much more, God through His word and the sacrificial work of Our Lord Jesus Christ has shown that He wants us in health even as our souls prosper (3rd John 2). It is not God’s perfect will to have us always be on the healing line every time a call to be prayed for is made, hence we need to know how to receive our healing by Faith, and to keep them.
We will have to learn and trust God to master the skill of standing by faith and holding on to God’s word, otherwise Satan and his cohorts will continually bring distractions against our soul salvation!
