Meeting: Season of the Spirit (Day 3)

Pastor Laide Olaniyan

There is no season of the spirit without the Spirit.

(Titus 3:4-6) “4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;”

Regeneration is to re-gene or to generate again. This regeneration is a product of the word. Our spirits were recreated and made a new species but the washing of regeneration as seen in Ephesians 5 with the sole purpose of raising another kind of man.

(1 Corinthians 10:3-4)3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.”

Christ has meat and drink. There is the drinking into the spirit to make benefit of every word allocation. Every word allocation comes with a corresponding outpouring of the spirit that will make the administration of the word effectual in those who are receiving it.

(1 Corinthians 11:29-30)29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. 30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.”

When you eat and drink but don’t discern, it administers the opposite. The table of the Lord has rules that govern it. One of our greatest undoing is unbelief. We have come to a place in the spirit where we can’t stay in unbelief; some things are not permitted again because of the gaze that is now focused on us.

There is a very high blessing that the Lord is bringing to His people and to make full benefit, unbelief must depart from us. We must come into full discernment of the meal and cup we are being given. Lack of discernment makes a man unworthy. There are grounds where the Lord can overlook but there is a place where the Lord wants full understanding; we must discern and be open to the administration in that world.

(Titus 3:5)5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”

On fulfilling the course of salvation, you are now required to fulfil the work that Jesus did in your souls. Faith is to work righteousness that has been revealed by the gospel until it is fulfilled in us. We can respond to faith in the place of prayer.

There is a meal in the spirit that is being served for us and there is a wine that the spirit of the Lord is serving. As we are being served the word, we must drink into the spirit; not just of the HolyGhost that is being poured but the manner and culture that is around that allocation of the word. One of the cultures in the spirit that we must learn is discretion; the ability to do and choose what is right whether being instructed or not. If we don’t understand the manner of the table, we will eat and drink damnation.

(Romans 7:6)6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”

There are newnesses of spirit. The Lord wants to give us new spirits and make us understand the manner and culture of that spirit. God doesn’t want us to speak or act carelessly at the table as He doesn’t speak carelessly as well; His words are not in vain but are very sure.
