Theme: Jesus the Healer: Knowing How to Receive Healing from the Lord
Topic: Faith for Healing
Faith is for living. (Habakkuk 2:4b) – “.. but the just shall live by his faith.” This means you must own your faith and live by it.
(Matthew 8:6-13) – “and saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.” Jesus always has the disposition to heal. The Centurion grasped that Jesus did not have to be present to heal; Jesus only needed to speak the word. He saw that Jesus’s word, beyond His physical presence, was enough to heal his servant. The authority of our Lord Jesus was what brought her healing. We also don’t have to feel the symptoms leaving us to know that we have been healed; you don’t have to suddenly feel good in your body to know that you have been healed. Taking the word of God as it is, suffices. The centurion did not have to confirm if the servant had been healed for him to believe.
There is such a thing as faith for healing to be healed, a reality for healing, a substance for healing, and evidence for healing.
(Acts 14:8-10) – “And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked: the same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.” The man in the scripture above has never known the reality of walking. The man’s faith was not written on his face; the perception of Paul was not of outward countenance, but his spirit bore witness to a reality. Paul was not preaching about healing; he was preaching about the grace of Jesus, but he felt a connection and knew that the man had faith to be healed. As we are hearing teachings and the unveiling of God’s revelations, substances should be forming in our hearts; faith to be healed should be formed in our hearts.
There are different kinds of faith in the Bible, and each is designed to do or actualize something in a saint. There are different types of faith because faith is life, and there are different grades of life; there are different types of realities and intimacies with the Lord. The life we are living highly depends on the faith we have received. Every faith has what it is meant to achieve in the life of a believer. Our faith ought to be purer and purer. Scripture talks about unfeigned faith (2 Tim. 1:5), which means that it can start by being feigned but will get purer. Faith is purified by trying it. None of the outworkings of faith are irrelevant.
The Milk Faith
We should not be cheated at any level of faith. Even though we are hearing the doctrine of everlasting life, when there is a demand to use our milk faith, we should be able to use it, because Satan does not care. The Lord wants us to be perfect, entire, and lacking nothing. He does not want us to be stuck at a level of faith and not move; he doesn’t want us to be ignorant.
Inside the milk faith, there are many types of faith, with each one being generated by some type of word. For example, there is faith for repentance which is generated by the preaching of an aspect of milk (Heb. 6:1-2) – “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.”- These are foundations that are needed for the edification or building up of the church. Other aspects of faith include faith for finances and faith for healing.
(Heb. 5:13) – “For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.” Milk is not just for hearing; it is for use. To be unskilled in the word of righteousness doesn’t mean a soul is a sinner or that the word of righteousness hasn’t been preached to him. It means the soul doesn’t have the skill to handle the word yet. So, a person can hear the word of righteousness and is not using it, but using milk. The introduction of every new level of faith is for us to move to the next level of faith. If we choose to stay at a particular level, we will be offended at the new light that heaven is bringing. Faith is not to please people or those who hear us; it is to please God. We can face contradictions when faith is at work, but we have to stay with it.
God doesn’t want schism in the body of Christ. Every member of the body is essential, and not everyone will suddenly come into the word of righteousness. The Lord will not have us despise any level of light we have used before. Every place we have been before has played a vital role to where we are now. We should be able to fellowship with other believers who are handling lights other than the word of righteousness; we should be able to enjoy Jesus with them. Jesus condescended to people lower than Him, and He was okay. We are not called to criticize any level of faith because it is essential for our journey.
Faith of the Meat: The gospel of Christ (The Faith of the Son)
(Acts 26:18) – “to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” The faith of the Son of God is for the healing of the soul. It is to bring the soul that has been affectionate towards sin and death, and turn it back to God. It is for raising and building up the soul. This is the kind of faith that teaches us to die to our rights. It is not the faith that continually gives you what you think you need, but by reason of subjection, we are shown what we need and what we should. This is the faith that gets purer and purer even in the face of contradictions. This is the faith that will be taken through trials and tribulations. This is the faith that will go through suffering; this is where we realize that in following the Lord, we will go through suffering. Suffering does not necessarily mean something evil will happen; it is allowing the will of God.
God doesn’t want us to be cheated. As we progress in faith, when there is a need to take authority and stand on our rights so that Satan does not cheat us, we should do so. (2 Cor. 2:11) – “lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” Not being ignorant means you have appropriated enough faith for the milk. If you are presently enjoying the allocation of the faith of the Son and you are using that, when the Lord demands that you take authority, you will. When situations arise, we seek the Lord to be sure He is the one behind it. God wants us to be able to appropriate faith. (2 Cor. 12:8-9) – “For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” Paul prayed and sought the face of the Lord concerning his situation, and when he saw that the Lord was involved, he switched to rejoicing even though the situation was not changed; this is a high level of faith. God wants us to be responsible for our healing and the health of our bodies because Jesus has, by His stripes, made us whole. This faith takes us to a place where pleasing Jesus is our priority. God wants us to be well-rounded. Any loophole Satan sees, he takes advantage of it.
Faith for the Strong Meat: The Gospel of the Father and God
This is the faith that saves the soul to the uttermost (1 Peter 1:9) – “receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” As Jesus was teaching the gospel of the Father, people were still getting healed. Even in the allocation of the gospel of the Father, there is still the desire of the Lord to have us healed and be in good health.
Things to note about Faith for healing.
Faith for healing had been before our Lord Jesus came, but His coming brought a higher authority; healing can be done with the name of a higher authority. We have a more sure word and a more sure name in Jesus. Even though healing was not the core of Jesus’s teaching, yet he still had the desire that people be healed. A father’s responsibility is not just to provide food and sustenance for his children. The real responsibility of a father is to raise sons. Even though Jesus’s main teaching was the truth of everlasting life (John 17:12), Healing was also part of it.
A handful of people were healed by Jesus as a result of their faith, not Jesus’s faith. We can generate faith to be healed; we can generate faith to get answers to things. This is what the Bible calls “your faith” (Matt. 9:26-30, Luke 17:14-19). Jesus has the capacity, not just to heal us but to make us whole. There’s a difference between healing and health. God recognizes faith and honours it. This faith can be in operation even when someone is not born again. It is anchored on trust in God, and sometimes on the word spoken by servants of God. This faith can be in operation even while a person is not born again. Many people who were healed in the Old Testament were not born again.
1ST TONGUES AND INTERPRETATION:
Yes, my power is still evident,
I can still work many miracles,
I still do it,
I still hinge on faith,
This power is this potent,
It is still present,
For many have asked many questions. Why am I not seeing these things? Why are these things not manifested amidst us? Why can’t I have faith and see it manifest?
I tell you today that it is potent,
Many are experiencing workings of miracles,
Many are experiencing changes in their bodies
Where is your faith?
Build up your faith,
See it, and you will see that this power can be ignited in you,
For with me, all things are possible,
I can change even your genes,
It is possible,
Hold on to my word, and you will see that change even manifest,
Just keep holding to my word, and you will see that change,
Many are even trusting me,
Many are asking, “Why have I prayed for so long and even this sickness still remains”
Keep praying,
Walk as though you don’t have it,
For the principle of faith is to just see and believe,
Keep seeing yourself come out of
Don’t give room to the Devil,
Shut him out of your mind, your head,
It is a family affair
Shut him out by many speaking, confessing and praying,
Don’t hold to yourself,
Resist the devil, and he will flee.
TONGUES AND INTERPRETATION (2)
These sicknesses and diseases are demonic activities,
You have higher authority
I have raised you above them
You need to take authority over infirmities, sickness and diseases,
You will not die, but you will live,
You need to speak the word until when you see them no more,
You have authority in the name of Jesus,
Receive your healing,
Open yourself to faith; healing is taking place,
Your body be made whole,
Take authority over the spirit peddling thoughts of death around you,
You shall not die,
You will live to proclaim the goodness of God,
It is not yet time to go,
There are many salvation grounds to cover,
I’m changing the atmosphere over you,
I’m stirring up your atmosphere to fight that spirit,
Healing, receive it!
Open your heart, for healing is taking place,
I am the Lord that healeth,
I don’t suffer my people with illness or diseases,
It is not from me,
I come as a healer this morning as a caring father, a father of the church,
Look into your body, and you will see it no more,
It has gone to where it came, and it will never come back again.
You don’t need a good knowledge of the word to access faith for healing. Many of the people the Lord healed were not disciples of Jesus; they didn’t know much of the word. That power is something in God that does not permit sicknesses and diseases.
This faith also sprouts in the heart as a result of meditation on God’s word until it gets to the place of being convinced. Meditation is pondering, revolving, and muttering in the mouth for the purpose of laying hold on a reality beyond the obvious. Meditation on the word is healthy for our heart and our body. Meditation can also bring us to the place of healing. It helps the word of God to get to our heart until we are convinced. God doesn’t want His people, no matter the level of their growth, to be healed. The devil is meant to be resisted at any level of our growth.
Faith for healing produces results when steps of faith are taken in belief, trusting God to produce the desired result. Even though we are hearing the things of the kingdom, God is still concerned about our health. Jesus doesn’t want us to be sick no matter the level of our growth. Satan and his demons may want to play a fast one on us with sicknesses and diseases, but we must push back. We must reject such manoeuvrings of the kingdom of darkness. At every level of your growth, resist the devil, and he will flee. Let it take God to say He was the one who permitted it, and we should allow it, but aside from that, any tree that our Heavenly Father has not planted should be rooted out. Let this be your disposition. No room for sickness, no room for diseases, no matter how small it is.
ROUND UP BY PASTOR HAPPY OSENI
(Prov. 4:20-22) – “My son, attend to my words; Incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, And health to all their flesh.”
Faith is not being strong-headed. It is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The word is something that we are supposed to gaze on. What keeps us is what our eyes are seeing and what we are meditating on. Many times, Satan tries to put fear and condemnation in us, but we should keep the word in our hearts and minds because this is what will keep us. Many times, we don’t have enough substance to push for faith. We get substance by what we hear. Hearing determines how far we will go with faith. We should listen to faith messages. We should not give attention to people who will put fear in our hearts. What we surround ourselves with will determine the outcome of our faith.
Many times, we believe in doctors more than the scriptures and our pastors. Our first point of call when we are sick is to pray. We should not apply faith when situations have gotten worse. We must have faith in the head, faith in the eyes, and faith in the heart. Faith in the head is meditation, and this will determine our sight. The secret is constant meditation in Jesus. Faith in the eyes and meditation in the heart is what will give health to all our flesh. Keep saying the word until you see that the word has entered inside you. Many times, faith takes a recovery process; God is not a magician. As we keep inclining to the word, then we continue to declare until we recover.
