Topic: Cultivating Godly Culture of Faith Confession

In our last lesson, we learnt that believing in our heart should be followed by faith-corresponding actions. One of the most important corresponding actions is confessing the word of God from Scripture. Obedience to the instruction of the Holy Ghost is also an important action that should follow our faith.
Confession as a culture means something that is part of you. Culture defines you and is part of you. Culture can be unlearned and relearned. We should see confession as a godly culture. Confession is not just in the milk of the word but also in the meat of the word, which is learning Christ. You can use confession of the word when you have conflict in your heart towards another person. So far as it is in the Word of God, you must learn to confess it
Culture is a consistent way of thinking, believing, and living. Confession is a way to live as a believer. We don’t confess what we wish for; what we confess as a believer is the Word, and it should be a culture. The reason we go through hard times for a long time is that we have accepted it as a fate, but as believers we need to learn how to confess the Word in every situation. We must learn to open our mouths and confess the Word; we must do it to the point that it becomes our natural way of life. Many times, our reaction to things is not the Word of God. There is nothing more sincere than the Word of God.
One can be very rich and die poor; one can have the capacity to do something and still not do it. Many of us can have faith to be healed, and yet we are still not healed. Acts 14: 8-9 “8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked: 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed…” This man who was impotent in his feet had faith to be healed but was not healed; it took Paul to stretch out his hand of healing for him to be healed. However, the best way to get healed is to have faith in the Word. Many of us have resources (Read and listened to Reverend Kenneth Hagins’ messages/books) but are not using them, and it’s because we are not confessing the Word.
Confession is agreeing with God in the heart enough to say what God says, to speak God’s words, and to use God’s expression and declaration to acknowledge God’s word. Using God’s words is for you and not for God; it isn’t to remind or convince God. God is aware of his word, but man has to be aware of what the word has said. Not being able to confess the word of God is actually the work of evil spirits. SAY THE WORD!!!
As faith without works is dead, so also faith without confession is dead. The actual biblical faith speaks with the mouth what one has believed in the heart. Romans 10:8 – 10 “8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” — The first evidence that the word is near you is that it is in your mouth. The word of faith is first in the mouth and then in the heart.
We can’t live as believers without confessing the word in the mouth. Even if you don’t believe, continue to confess it; it will get to a point where your heart will believe. If it is looking like, ” Oh, there is a word that has been preached, and you are struggling with it, write it down, keep saying it, say it to yourself. It might look bland at some point; it might look like it does not make sense, but keep saying it because it would get to a point where your heart would believe it. The first thing is that our mouth should confess, and it is very, very important
Words are the most powerful force on earth that brings invisible things to visibility. The earth was furnished by God speaking the words of what He desired. God spoke to create; God confessed creation into existence. Proverbs 18:20 – 21 “20 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” The tongue is a powerhouse; it has the power of life and death.
Jesus’ ultimate assignment was to die on the cross for the remission of our sins. Our new birth experience was completed by the confession of what Jesus did. Jesus confessed himself to death for us, and we also need to learn how to confess ourselves to the throne. To not react negatively to a terrible situation, we need to learn how to confess to the throne; we need to confess positively so that we do not react in the flesh. Confessing not to react negatively or in a bad way is what is meant by confessing to the throne. How would Jesus have reacted if a negative occurrence had happened to Him? Confession is needed to take the required obedience.
Faith is one of the most significant and valuable teachings in the New Testament. We hold on to the word by saying it because faith can slip away; faith can dissipate in your heart when there is no confession, even when you come for meetings. One way to hold on to faith is by confessing it. How to hold on to the word is by confessing the word day and night with or without contradictions. (2 Kings 4: 14-37)
Even when it looks like the issue is bad, still confess the word of faith. There is no way we can be in good health as believers if we don’t confess the word.
God wants every sick person to be healed as he wants every sinner to be saved. The sacrifice for sin and sickness has already been done; so if you can have faith to be born again, you can have faith to be healed. We don’t need any sacrifice again; we only need to confess and believe. Isaiah 53: 3-5 “3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed”
If one is going through a particular thing, look for Scriptures that talk about the situation you are going through and confess them. Never allow fear to dominate; maintain positive confession in the face of attacks of sickness and diseases, and also listen to other brethren’s testimonies.
There is an ultimate law that governs the realm of the spirit; the law can be used for our good or otherwise. God gave men the ability to use the law, and ignorance of it won’t excuse a man from its reward and consequences. If you don’t have enough faith, build your faith; you can build your faith. In the same way, the words of our mouth are so powerful that Jesus said we would have whatever we speak. In the same way, forces of life and death are governed by what we say. The words we say lead to life and death, so we need to intentionally choose our words. We should be able to say the right things with our mouths.

Proverbs 18:20 – 21 “20 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” The belly here is our soul, and for it to be richly satisfied, our mouth must profess. What our mouth is saying is what will satisfy our soul. Our confession should be on an increased basis. What we say with our mouth is what determines the kind of deposit we have in our heart. Our mouth is a weapon both in the hands of God and in the hands of Satan. Evil communications corrupt good manners.
Many times, our confessions are what won’t make us walk in love. Our confession should be Thank you, Jesus because the bible says in all things give thanks; it would determine how well we can be full of the Holy Spirit. Sayings can reconstruct our life; this is why it is good to stay with a sane person. If you don’t have faith, don’t stay with someone who lacks faith.
Mark 11:23 “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” The saying in this verse was mentioned four times; believe was mentioned once. What you say can bring faith to your heart; sayings are things real in the spirit; confessing shows we are healed; it is a reality in our spirit and not in our soul. For us to bring that reality to our souls, we need to say it. Sayings can deposit belief in our hearts, so surround yourself by faith sayings.
