We have been wrong about how we treat people who are caught in offenses. We quickly label people backsliders, and it’s religion that makes it so. Once a person is not doing what we know them to be doing, our soul disconnects from them. Not only that, our love for them wanes. But God is not like that. It’s not that we’re encouraging people not to continue in truth, but when they’re entangled,
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning 2 pet 2:20
