INTRODUCTION

Through the leading of the Holy Spirit, Our Daddy, God’s Servant Pastor Laide Olayniyan, under Our grand daddy Pastor Emeka Egwuchukwu has directed that a new series on the subject of Tribulation be taken by the Sunday School department. Tribulation is an important topic in relation to the church of the living God, and accurate understanding of it cannot be downplayed as we journey towards the fullness of salvation.

We shall therefore be looking into this all-important subject over the next few lessons for the reasons itemized below.

SOME REASONS FOR TEACHING TRIBULATION:

  1. To help us have a fuller picture and mind of God from scriptures concerning the subject of TRIBULATION as enshrined in God’s word (1 Thessalonians 3:4). Many believers, have mindsets that are altogether not scriptural about the subject of tribulation, either they are to the extreme on one side, believing that tribulation, persecution and suffering is alien to the Christian life, or conversely believe that the entirety of the Christian walk is nothing but tribulation. But through this series, under Daddy, we trust God to come into better understanding that will both profit us in our immediate Christian journey and also prepare us for the future.
  2. To help us see the place and work of tribulation in the program of the salvation of our Souls as Believers, (according to scriptures) (Acts 14:22; 1 Thessalonians 3:4). This would help us adequately and graciously prepare our hearts for such seasons which are inevitable on the path to glory.
  3. To help us see that THE DEVIL AND EVIL SPIRITS have always brought tribulations/trials and troubles against believers and saints who have held on to THE CORRECT AND ACCURATE GOSPEL IN EVERY CHRISTIAN GENERATION (Acts 9:1-3; Revelation 1:9; 2nd Thessalonians 1:4).
  4. To help us not to be caught up with the “mind of 21st century kind of Christianity” that doesn’t believe in “sufferings” and therefore isn’t positioned to receive “The Gospel of Christ unto Salvation”. This lapse also robs the believer of the requisite strength to survive during tribulations, whether they be individual tribulations permitted by God or corporate tribulations that the devil and his cohorts through men and institutions can bring upon and against the Church in these last days.
  5. To begin preparing us for the next phase of Christianity, and the earth which the Everlasting Gospel is opening up and ushering in. The truth is that the devil has never in any generation folded his arms (or wings) and just sit back watching believers journey out of flesh into the spirit and onwards. He has always opposed the progress of the revelation of the Gospel of salvation in any generation that has found mercy to peruse the Gospel of Salvation at all.

So, it is not farfetched to note that this generation will face its fair share of hindrances and spiritual impedance as the light of everlasting life shines brighter.
