Meeting: Season of the Spirit (Day 3)

Minister: Pastor Tosin Gabriel

Adorning the doctrine of God our Saviour

(Revelation 2:1) Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

(Ephesians 3:4)Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)”

Some of God’s people miss the appearance of the Lord because He might not always come the way we think He will come. We must also learn to follow doggedly the angels of the churches (our pastors) because we will not see beyond what the angels of the churches have given us.

(Matthew 16:19)And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

There are keys to appearance; there are keys to the kingdom.

(Titus 2:10)Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.”

The doctrine of Christ is not the same thing as the doctrine of God. The doctrine of Christ is for preparation so you can receive the doctrine of God. Having Christ is the prerequisite of having God. When you receive the doctrine of God, that means you have entered into the fellowship of the Father and Son.

(Romans 1:16)For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

The Doctrine of Christ brings righteousness while the Doctrine of God brings Salvation.

(Romans 8:15-17)15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

(Hebrews 1:14)Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”

The Gospel of Christ is not salvation. The new birth is an introduction to salvation. salvation is a person. We are born again to inherit God; we are supposed to inherit God the same way Christ inherited God. If we don’t inherit God, then we have not inherited anything.

Satan has malice against man and he hates us badly. Satan made a man become flesh; he changed the living soul to a fleshy soul – Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

(Acts 26:18) To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”

You can’t know the power of God till you know what the world is. This world is Satan’s power. When the Father’s gaze is on you, some things should not bother us. Satan’s wisdom is to keep men perpetually captive. The power of God changes us from the inside.

(I Corinthians 1:24)But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

The world is the power and wisdom of Satan. He has put a value system in place so that we don’t look for the power of God.

There is a purging required to align fully with the appearance of the great God. The power of God can change soul configuration and texture, from carnal to spiritual. The beginning of spirituality is that you are sober, then you move to being righteous and the peak of spirituality is godliness.

Being godly means you are compatible with God; He can give you His laws, spirit, standards, commandments without resisting it; being godly means you’re at peace with God. We can’t see the glorious appearing when this world is still glorious to us. A godly man sees this present world as one that will pass away.

(Titus 2:13)Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”

(Romans 9:5)Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.”

(John 20:28)And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.”

The great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ are the same person. Jesus is our God. God our Saviour is our Lord Jesus who is bringing salvation. He has the power to save us from corruption.

(Psalm 62:9)Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.”

A godly man can’t deliver himself from vanity, He will need the great God. The world is lighter than vanity. Vanity is anything that can pass away. There are different temptations and pressures of a godly man. He needs a higher power that can change his state from spiritual to incorruptible. It is possible for the godly to diminish with time and stop being godly.

(Titus 2:10) Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

When the great God appears, He appears as our Saviour; to save us from our everlasting enemy – vanity. A godly man is a warrior, he doesn’t make excuses for his wrongs.

Vanity knows what it can press to make us respond. The greatness of our God is that He can remove vanity from our souls. He is mighty to save – Isaiah 63:1Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”

(Ephesians 1:19)And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,”

If we don’t believe, we won’t progress. The making of a human into being a divine man is the work of the great God; only a divine man can’t react to vanity.
