The perfect companion that we have given to man
That spirit of guidance
It is a blessing to be led by the spirit
It is a blessing to be conscious
It is a blessing and we enjoy His consciousness again
I would help you today to respond to Him
He is ever present everywhere
When you wake up He would talk to you
Even the spirit of truth that hates the world –
ever present being, even the blessings of God.

(Colossians 2:1-3) – “1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; 2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
The essence of leading of the spirit is to take up through a path that leads to God – because different paths exist and they lead to different things. In essence, the reason why we’re being led to God is for our salvation. It is also to unravel mysteries about God. It is to bring to life what is written in the scripture. The reason you need to be led is to get to a destination which is God.
Introduction
The moment you receive the Holy Spirit, your soul has been purchased and your spirit is meant to lead your soul to God.
Being led is a conscious effort, it should not be something that is strange or far-fetched among believers. You shouldn’t be ashamed to acknowledge that you are waiting on the Holy Spirit when unbelievers ask you why things are being delayed. As believers, we’re first spirits and that’s why we should always be spirit-led.
Every one of our conversations should be spirit filled. Even when we’re making decisions in the flesh, we shouldn’t be moved by the motion of our flesh, it has to be spirit led. From relocation, house hunting, marriage, job hunting, and so on, you shouldn’t use your eyes to judge things, go with the spirit! Don’t make decisions based on natural circumstances.
(Proverbs 3:5-8) – “5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.”
(Proverbs 14:12) – “12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
One major thing that distracts us from following the leading of the spirit is that we live in an age of information overload. We’re quick to run to external forces when we’re faced with situations when we don’t rely on the leading of the spirit. We must be able to discern what is giving us information when in need. We have downplayed the role the Spirit in leading us because of the availability of much information.
If we continue to rely on available information from external forces, we’ll only make decisions based on the idols in our souls. We need to follow the leading of the Spirit so the idols in our souls can be dealt with. We need to be consciously led in all that we do even in our basic natural affairs including home management, choosing a career path and so on.
Be conscious of your inner man despite the information around. While the world is magnifying AI, you should be magnifying SI (Spiritual Intelligence). As a believer, you should first consult divine intelligence when looking for information. This is not to discard the use of technology, however, this is to discourage us from relying on it first before the Spirit. Technology is meant to be an added means of solving problems and not the major means. You can trust the leading of the Spirit to provide for you, don’t base your conviction on external information.
When using technology, use it with a form of fear not to lose God. In everything we do, we must understand that we are spirit-led people. We mustn’t fall for the device of the enemy as he tries to use technology to drive us astray from God.
In how we use the things we’ve acquired, be it house, car, money, food, etc, we should also wait on leading so we use them appropriately or disburse them accordingly, If not, we’ll become selfish or too sensual to take leadings. And this will take us farther away from God. Don’t let the economy make you fail in showing love as a Christian.
We need to constantly remember that the moment we gave our lives to Christ, our human spirit was quickened and the Holy Spirit now resides there – it is from there the Holy Spirit leads us. But this doesn’t go without saying that we should test every leading we get. Let your leading be tested by the word of God, by spiritual authority or by other believers in your company.
(1 Corinthians 9:24-27) – “24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”
(Romans 12:1) – “1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
The scriptures above are a call to repentance and a call to always be conscious of the leading of the Spirit. There is a lot of information all around that prevents us from being with God. You need to be deliberate about knowing God.
(1 Corinthians 9:27) – “27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”
As believers, we should not just live carelessly, we should always pray in the spirit – this should be our everyday life because we are not mere men. We are fighting spirits so we need to be conscious about praying in the Holy Ghost.
(Ephesians 5:18-19) – “18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”
Some of us still listen to secular music with vulgar languages, sensuality – this kills our ability to tune into the spirit and its ripple effect, hearing leadings. The scripture above admonishes us to listen to spiritual songs, songs that are edifying. These are the things that’ll help pur antenna be sharp in the spirit.
One other way to sharpen our antenna in the spirit is to learn to fast: fast away food, fast away social media and depend mostly on the Holy Spirit. You must be ready to sacrifice things that would take you to God, to do this, we need to be led by the Holy Spirit and be Spirit conscious.
