Meeting: Season of the spirit (Day 4)

Minister: Pastor Tosin Gabriel

Understanding the Hope of a Godly man

Woe betide us if the Lord does not appear. The coming of the Lord is near. The glorious appearing is already ongoing, it is going to climax to the peak. You have to be among the people that’ll be ready for it. We can’t use our calendar to judge the coming of the Lord, we’re the ones who have to hasten our pace. Some people are already responding to this appearing. Take your place, take your lot, be numbered among them that’ll be ready.

Knowing the Lord personally and intimately for to take your place as an individual and be numbered.

When Jesus was ministering to the seven churches, the last statement he said to them is “let he that have ear hear what the spirit is saying to the church.” – (Revelation 2:7). So, the corporate flow is to strengthen the individual allotment. However, you have to receive the word and personalize it. It’s possible someone’s place will be given to another person. So, let us strive individually. Walk with the Lord, obey and honour.

Knowing the spirit will make instructions easier. When our pastors give us instructions, it becomes easier with the spirit. There’s a lot of benefit and gain in having an intimate walk with the Lord.

The secular world has made things difficult for our survival in the spirit, even social media. We have to be deliberate about how we live with these things.

(Titus 2:10)Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.” There is doctrine of Christ and there is doctrine of God. The doctrine of Christ is the preparation for the doctrine of God. Nobody has the capacity to receive the doctrine of God first. Doctrine of Christ empowers us to receive the doctrine of God.

There’s doctrine of Christ our righteousness and doctrine of God our Saviour. (Deuteronomy 29:29)The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” Things can’t belong to you unless they’re revealed.

You can be born again spiritually and die again spiritually. (Romans 8:13)For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”This is for believers. It means that as you have been quickened spiritually, you can die spiritually. This salvation is eternal salvation. There’s righteousness and salvation that needs to be revealed for eternal salvation. In our community, righteousness has been revealed. This is because the doctrine of Christ has been obeyed from the heart. This is why heaven is announcing that our new season is the appearing of the father.

The emphasis of charity for years is to bring righteousness to fulfillment. So, Christ being fulfilled is the preparation for a glorious appearing, it means we are ripe for a glorious appearimg. And this is not a future experience, it’s already ongoing. Salvation is already being revealed.

Every doctrine has its own law. The doctrine of Christ has a law called the law of Christ.

(Proverbs 4:1-2)“1 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. 2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.”

(Galatians 6:2)Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”

Anytime you’re receiving doctrine, law is being communicated. The fulfillment of the law of righteousness is charity. Charity is the fulfillment of the law of Christ. (Judges 5:6-7)6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways. 7 The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.” The world teaches men to bear your own burden and not others. It teaches us to be competitive. When we learn Christ, the law of Christ is fulfilled in us. Anytime we mention the doctrine of God, salvation is involved.

(Titus 2:11-12)11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.” Before we look for the glorious appearimg, there’s an appearance that has occurred. The grace of God has appeared and has prepared us to receive glorious appearing. Salvation is glorious appearing. But there will be a pre-appearance.

Grace is a teacher. That means the doctrine of Christ is a teacher and a scolder. That means there’s a higher scolding coming. Grace of Christ will teach us to deny ungodliness and worldly lust. When we company, grace will chastise us. Grace and this world can never meet, grace doesn’t permit this world – For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” (Romans 6:14). Grace doesn’t accommodate sin, rather it disempowers it – That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 5:21)

When we’re under grace, it will teach and train us. It’ll also teach us to be sober. Grace is the John the Baptist of salvation, it prepares the way for salvation. Some believers receive grace in vain, they are vagabonds in grace.

Faith makes us see to become sober. It makes us see beyond this world. It teaches us hope for righteous living. And grace teaches us charity, a charity man is a godly man. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.” All these attributes are for a godly man.

When you arrive at charity, you see this world as a present world. A world that will pass away. And you’ll be looking for another world. So men don’t want to hear that this world is present and would pass away. They want it to continue. It is the godly man that sees it as present and evil. This is because this world is against his nature as a godly man. So, if you like this world, you’re not yet godly. (Galatians 1:4)Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father.” We’re more than the present world, but because we still enjoy how this present world is used, we’re not yet godly.

(Titus 2:13)Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” They’re looking for two things: blessed hope and glorious appearing. (Titus 1:2)In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.” Blessed hope is the hope God has blessed. Blessing is an oath. Blessed hope is something eternal. In Titus 2:13, they’re looking for that blessed hope and the glorious hope – salvation is hope, eternal life is also hope.

(1 Thessalonians 5:8) – But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.” The godly have two hopes: the hope of salvation and the hope of eternal life. Salvation is the eternal power of God unto eternal life. Christ is the power of God unto salvation. Salvation is a higher power than christ. Salvation is more powerful than Christ. Salvation empowers a soul to receive eternal life. There’s God our Savior and God our reward. God our reward is the eternal God. God our Savior is the everlasting God.

What God our savior will do is to make us unblamable in His sight. The greatness of God is how He can work on a man and make him incorruptible, better than an angel. It was an angel that parted the reed sea. One angel is higher than the ocean – And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven.” (Revelation 10:5). This passage describes an angel made by God, yet the greatness of God will make man to be higher than that angel.

(Numbers 9:16)So it was alway: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.” an angel covered the children of Israel for 40 years, day and night. Moses was even afraid to look at the face of this angel. (Hebrews 2:7)Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands.” (Ephesians 2:5)Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (Titus 2:13)Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” The appearance of the great God is talking about the operations of the great God. Another word for God our saviour is God our inheritance, because we ought to inherit God. Salvation is an inheritance – our inheritance. But there is more to inheritance, it’s called reward. God is inheritance, God is reward. These are two hopes of the Godly. (See Romans 8)

(Titus 1:1-2)“1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; 2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.” The elect is the godly. Eternal life is the highest hope. But nobody can get eternal life outside salvation.

1st Tongues and Interpretation

I want to make you an whole man

Holy and entire

That’s why I’m dividing these two things that’ll make you whole

You’re to be saved and to get to the point of entirety

I’m making you whole and entire

I want to make you perfect

This is the definition of a whole and true man.

Blessed hope is the hope that has been eternally blessed. (Titus 1:1)Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness.” There’s still a world higher than this world, it’s called the world to come. (Hebrews 2:5) For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.” It is the godly that’s looking for the world to come in this manner. But before the Godly can get to that blessed hope, he’ll first get to the lively hope.

(1 Peter 1:3-4)3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.” Verse 4 describes the lively hope. This means the gospel of Christ has kept us in this present time with the lively hope. This means the lively hope is salvation.

Salvation is a hope. When you collect the lively hope, you receive the blessed hope. You can’t receive eternal life if you’re not saved. God can’t give you eternal life if you’re not incorruptible. Eternal life is the exclusive life of God.

God cannot give eternal life to a carnal soul. Eternal life is a hope, and whatever you have is no longer a hope. So, you don’t have eternal life yet. (Romans 8:24-25)24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”

(1 Peter 1:4-5)4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

(Colossians 1:22-23)22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: 23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister.”

You need to be settled in your heart about the hope. It takes salvation to have eternal life. Sometimes, when hope is not made hope, man becomes careless.

It is a higher offence to say you have something God calls a hope for you. The elect has two hopes: salvation and eternal life.

(2 Timothy 2:10)Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.” There are two things the elect are obtaining which is in Christ Jesus. You can’t get a reward if you don’t have inheritance. Salvation is the key to eternal life. You can’t receive eternal life if you don’t have salvation of the soul. If God gives a soul that’s still carnal eternal life, the soul will be higher than Lucifer. If God gives eternal life to an unsaved soul for the first time, that means that soul can still fight God to say I have something of you in me.

Salvation is what guarantees our receipt of eternal life. You’re an unlearned soul if you say you want eternal life without salvation. A godly person who is enlightened knows what He needs first. The great God is a savior – He’s to give us salvation.  When you enter the realm of glory, what they’ll first teach you is salvation – salvation is glorious. Your first glory is salvation, your next glory is eternal life. So, stop praying that anyone covering your glory should die by fire. Your glory is reserved in heaven for you – Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” (Titus 2:13)

The great God and our Saviour is a person. The great God is the Lord Almighty.

(Revelation 1:8) 8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

(Revelation 1:18) 18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

The great God is the Lord Almighty, He has the key of hell and death. The glorious appearing of the great God and saviour – Jesus Christ is coming as the Lord Almighty.

Salvation is not easy, every creature is subject to the law of corruption. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope.”(Romans 8:19-20) So, it means that creature is waiting for hope. Anything that can pass away is vanity – Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.” (Psalm 62:9) Vanity is a law that is running the entire creature. Anything that is subjected to time and starts depreciating with time is vanity. The present heaven and earth is under this law.

(Hebrews 1:9-11) – 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment.” Anything that can grow old is under the law of vanity.

(Romans 8:20)20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope.” This means heaven is waxing old, we don’t know, but the inhabitants of it know. Earth is waxing old and this is because men are breaking laws.

This glorious appearing has its own commandment. They won’t give doctrine to a carnal man, because the carnal mind is enmity against God – 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” (Romans 8:7) A man that has used the law of Christ to live is the man that is ready for the appearing of the Glorious God.

Glory begins with salvation. Realm of glory begins with salvation. Realm of salvation is the beginning of glory and not the end. Salvation is everlasting glory. The perversion of men is making earth wax old faster than heaven. This is why God didn’t promise us heaven but eternal life rather.

Angels know that heaven is not what it used to be. That’s why angels are ministering spirits. (Hebrews 1:14)14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” Angels want our obedience to be complete so we can bring them to our own world. God has ordained it that this present world will pass and the world of the incorruptible will come. (1 Corinthians 6:3)3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?” Judging angels here means we’ll give them judgement with our lives. (John 14:21)21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” The Advent of the great God is to make us better.

If your thoughts can move past vanity, you’re thinking big. What is better than vanity is to see if we can be made better that – to think sinlessness is thinking big. Our configuration of thoughts is to think sinlessness. It’s possible for us to be on earth for 50 years and there won’t be any record of sin against us – 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15)

The essence of the glorious appearing of the great God is to shine the light of His incorruptible life. What makes Him the great God is that He has an incorruptible life – 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” (Titus 2:13)

(Psalm 71:21) 21 Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.” Increasing your value in everlasting life is increasing your greatness. When they send the great God and saviour to us, he’s bringing light. This is because we cannot undo vanity outside of light.

(James 1:17)17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” The law of vanity is that it has variableness and shadow of turning. The best of angels still have variableness and shadow of turning. (Ezekiel 28:14) 14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.” It’s possible angels didn’t know they could turn until one of them turned. So, the great God is bringing light for handling variableness and the shadow of turning on our soul.

The essence of the appearing of the great God and our Saviour is to take away our sins. (Titus 2:14)14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” There is something called ‘our sins’ and there’s something called ‘sins of the world’.

(1 John 2:1-2) “1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

(Matthew 1:21)21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.” The Godly are the people of Jesus and they have sins. It means you can be in charity and still have sins.

(Ephesians 5:3)3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints.” (1 John 2:2)2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.(1 Corinthians 13:12)12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” Seeing through a glass darkly is ‘our sins’. If God is thinking A and we’re thinking B, it’s our sin. The way we think about our brethren that is contrary to how God thinks about them is a sin. This is why there’s a glorious life, this life is to operate us. The Godly can sin more than worldly people: this sin is familiarity. He (the Godly) thinks he knows already, he can feel he’s better and stays there. Job’s friends were not sinners, but everything they said to Job was a sin because they falsely accused him. When your brother is in affliction, don’t be quick to say it’s his sins that caused him to be there, it’s better to keep your mouth shut.

Job’s friends could have interceded for him with their light, but they used it against him. When God came to the three of them, he told them they’ve not spoken well of Him – 7 And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. 8 Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.”(Job 42:7-8). We’re too quick to talk. To be incorruptible starts with thought. You can’t be sinless if your thoughts are not sinless.

Our sin is darkness – it shows that we’re not yet enlightened as we ought to. Charity is not everything, but it is required to move to the next phase. We can stay there and not have perfect judgement.

(1 John 1:5-7)5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

The message of the great God and our Savior is to bring one thing: Light. (James 1:17)17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

The instrumentality is to give us good light and perfect light. Good gift is light, perfect gift is also light. So, it means good gifts are a body of lights then, perfect gifts are also a body of lights. What God gives as gifts are lights. When the great God appears, He’ll bring light. The glorious appearing are lights. The high priest in old testament has light in his chest, inside the breastplate of righteousness.

Inside the breastplate of righteousness (righteousness already revealed) are two stones. When he comes to the godly, he’ll bring out the two stones because the godly has breastplates too. The high priest will then upgrade the godly because he’s (godly) not seeing as he’s (high priest) seeing. The high priest comes from morning light – 30 And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron’s heart, when he goeth in before the Lord: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the Lord continually.” (Exodus 28:30). The two stones with the high priest are called light and perfection. The high priest is called Father of Lights – Father of urim and turim. So, there’s no salvation outside of good light and perfect light.

Good lights are alpha lights. Perfect lights are omega lights. We need to do them both to be saved. God being the alpha and the omega is to introduce the first and last thing we’ll do to be saved – 8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8) You can’t say you’re saved if you don’t do alpha and omega.

All the kings were measured by the alpha and omega – 27 And his deeds, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.” (2 Chronicles 35:27-29) When Jesus Christ came and said I’m first and last, it means we have to do all that to sit on the throne. All the kings of Israel did the same. The issue of first and last is an ancient measurement. So, when God appears to us, He’ll give us the good light first. When good light lands, it’ll come to us as understandimg, and will give us commandment. The essence of good light is to do good works.

(Ephesians 2:10)10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”  This good work is not the one in the flesh, it is vanity. These good works have their own commandment. (1 Peter 2:1) Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings.” These are beginning of good works, and there is more to them. All these things here are variablenesses, and the good light handles them. Even though we’ve done charity, we can still envy, because charity still varies. There are still variablenesses in a charity church.

Wives dealing with their husbands as their lords are dealing with variableness. (1 Peter 2:18) 18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.” The issue of all envies, guiles etc, these things will still pop up among brethren. Evil speaking/thoughts too. Leaders have the sin of remitting wrongs before it happens, this is also a variableness.

It’s easy to do good works when light shines. It takes light to have breakthroughs. Light will help us overcome guile. Sin is not almighty, we have an Almighty who is the great God, let Him invest light into you. What we should be praying for is that the Lord should shine light on you.

The perfect light is to undo the shadow of turning. Shadow of turning is the ability to turn, depart, die, give up. The more we grow in light, the more the tendency to depart increases. Teaching of faith is to make us see that it’s possible to be incorruptible. When we start thinking the way God thinks, our temptation increases. We feel we have perception the way God does, but we still don’t have something God has. (John 5:19)19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” Even when we think we’re thinking like God, wait, let God be the one to confirm.

The war of our Lord Jesus Christ towards the cross is independence. Jesus was warring – the way Satan thought he didn’t need God again, he sold it to Jesus, and Jesus fought warfares. Sinning at this point of Jesus’ warring is just simply us feeling that we don’t need to rely on God again, that we’re complete.

Jesus Christ being in covenant with God is under God eternally. Perfect work is to be eternally under. The simplest way we can be tested with this is with money. Money is the easiest way to know whether our will is intact or not. (Matthew 6:24)24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Here, Jesus states that money can compete with God.

Sometimes, God can lead one brethren to test other brethren. And through this, we’ll realize that we only know charity and not the way. Then our variablenesses will be exposed. This is why our need is appearing. Sometimes, our natural needs make us look down on God. However, it is Him working in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure –13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13)
